BLEACH STAINS

If the bleach stain has not yet set, blot affected area with a cloth saturated with sodium thiosulfate – used in film developing – until stain fades. Rinse in cold water and repeat if necessary.

For a simple home treatment without chemicals (or if the stain has set), try white vinegar – it is well known as a colour restoration solution that will neutralize any bleach agents in the fabric. Soak a clean, white cloth with vinegar and blot the stain until the area becomes saturated. Do not rub. Rinse with cold water and repeat as necessary.

Launder in the warmest water safe for fabrics, then air dry in the sunlight. Sunlight has a powerful bleaching effect that will removing yellowing.
