FAKE TAN STAINS

Fake tan stains need extra attention, as you have both dye and grease to contend with.

Turn the garment inside out and work on removing the stain this way so that it can lift off rather than go through the fabric. Lay a sheet of absorbent paper towel between the garment and the stain to avoid transfer.

Gently dap at the stain with dry paper towel. Do not rub.

Mix a solution of dish detergent and water and apply to affected area with a soft cloth. Don’t soak the stain, but get it wet.

If the stain does not lift, add a pretreatment to the detergent mixture and let it sit on the stain. Wash as usual, following all care instructions on the label.
