GREASE STAINS: Grease, Butter & Oil
Gently scrape any excess grease from material with a dull knife before treating the stain. Use a lifting motion to avoid pushing the grease stain deeper into the fabric.
Gently rub a sprinkle of flour into the stain to absorb the grease.
Cover the entire spot with colourless liquid dish detergent and work gently into the stain. As a grease stain is an oil stain, the emulsifiers in most household cleaning products will lift the oil in the stain.
Rinse detergent with white vinegar to remove all residue from the cleaning products.
Wash as usual in hottest water appropriate for fabric. For stubborn grease stains, repeat the steps above.
