WASABI STAINS

Wasabi as we know it is not the actual root grated fresh and crushed into a paste as in a fine restaurant. The one we all know with our sushi is a mix of mustards with green colour added so can be easily removed from washable garments with a bit of TLC, focusing on the removal primarily of the added colour!.

Remove excess wasabi from garment using a blunt knife. Use a lifting motion to avoid rubbing the wasabi deeper into the fabric fibres. Treat the stain by rubbing between your fingers with colourless laundry detergent. Soak the garment in water diluted with an all-fabric or oxygen bleach. Launder as usual in cold water.

Do not dry the garment if the stain remains. Repeat if necessary until stain is completely removed.

Please do seek professional assistance before taking too great a risk with your fabrics!

Do not launder any fabrics whose care label states no washing, please check your label symbols and refer to our debunking care labels section in Advice page to confirm symbols if unsure.
