Drycleaning Trick

Presoaking new clothes in Bi Carbonate of soda can remove the manufacturers sizing, a coating that is paled over your fabric fibres to make your garment shiny, soft and more transportable to the store. ¼ cup to a large load aids your cleaner as well as deodorises and softens the water making your fabrics nicer to wear.

Naturally acidic, white vinegar cuts grease, softens water, and whitens fabrics when added to the rinse water. Load sizes: Large ½ cup Medium ¼ Small 1/8 cup

The rubbing together (abrasion) of your garments actually does the physical cleaning. Hence, the more items in the load, without overloading your machine, the better. Even tying the shirts together with a string just below the collars will encourage the collars to rub together. What’s more, you’re saving water by doing less laundry.

The washing water temperature is very important. The hotter the water, the better the clean as heat activates laundry cleaners and stain removers and opens fibres to remove soiling.

PLEASE NOTE: Please read all labels before washing!

Yes, you do need to separate your whites, colours and blacks! Wash your whites on the hottest setting. Wash your colours and blacks on a warm to cold wash.

Silk: Leave to elaundry!
Delicates: Wash inside out & with a neutral wool wash.
Embellished: Are not covered by the labelling on your garment so TAKE CARE when cleaning. Put in a close fitting net bag inside out on a hand wash cycle depending on fabric, and observe during the washing process.

Or, to wash by hand:

  1. Fill a bathtub with lukewarm water
  2. Add the minimum recommended amount of detergent for hand-washing loads
  3. Gently squeeze soapy water through article, then drain the wash water
  4. Rinse with fresh cool water

  6. Tumble dry on low heat for a few hours until completely dry

Washing Baby Clothes

Harsh detergents can irritate newborn skin, so use neutral PH (mild) products when treating stains. We recommend Napisan or Ecostore natural whiteners for boiling your baby whites.

Harsh temperature can deteriorate any unnatural fibres so only purchase natural fabrics. But more importantly, natural fibres help your baby’s skin breathe.

Quick Notes for Laundering

Concentrates can burn if put directly onto fabrics.

Powders should go in first with warm water running to dissolve.

Laundry liquid is safe on fabrics, however add cleanser to bottom of the machine and turn on for a minute BEFORE adding your load.

How much is too much?

You can quickly tell if you are using too much laundry cleanser by simply soaking a single garment in warm water for 5 minutes, then give it a squeeze. If bubbles form – too much cleanser! So start reducing your scoops per load. Otherwise, you will feel cleanser against your skin.
